Objective #3
By 2018, all middle and high school students will develop and refine an individual academic and career plan, and have numerous opportunities to explore and plan for postsecondary outcomes, as evidenced by fully developed and implemented academic and career plans.
Activities and Strategies:
Develop a written articulation agreement for postsecondary degree attainment with RappahannockCommunity College (RCC), specifying options for students to complete an Associate’s Degree or a General Education Certificate from RCC concurrent with a high school diploma.
Provide increased opportunities for high school students to participate in dual enrollment courses.
Encourage high school students to connect with a counselor from RCC no later than their junior year of high school.
Arrange multiple campus visits to state colleges and universities.
Provide information and training to high school students and their parents in using Virginia Wizard.
Develop and expand student apprenticeship programs within the school division.
Create opportunities for middle school students to explore career aptitudes and interests.

Establish a clear course sequence for a minimum of five career pathways, to include: Family & Consumer Science, Marketing, Business Management, Finance/Accounting and Technology.
Ensure all CTE completer courses have an appropriate certification exam.
Establish a marketing teacher position at the high school.
