By 2018, the high school and the division will meet or exceed the established state and federal performance benchmarks for graduation, as evidenced by cohort graduation data.
Activities and Strategies:
Develop and implement a freshmen academy to assist students with the transition to high school.
Designate staff members as transition advisors to provide entering ninth graders and other transfer students with academic and social support (ex. refine academic plan, advise of tutoring opportunities, advise of extracurricular activities, etc.)
Implement strategies to ensure the success of students who enroll in Algebra I in ninth grade.
Implement strategies to ensure the success of students in completing English 9.
Explore the feasibility and benefits of designating a freshmen wing at the high school.
Develop and offer a variety of extracurricular activities (to include clubs) at the middle and high school to promote student engagement.
Establish a JROTC program at the high school.
