Technology Plan 2010-2015
Executive SummaryThe Westmoreland County Public Schools Technology Plan for 2010- 2015 provides the mission, vision, process, budget, and timeline for this five year period. The plan is a working document that will change as technology options and opportunities present themselves. The plan is written and guided by members of the Technology Plan Committee, which represents stakeholders in Westmoreland County Public Schools. The plan drives goals for technology that will positively affect student progress in the county and hopefully beyond.
The Technology Plan also correlates with strategic plan goals for Westmoreland County Public Schools and the division mission. These are based on Ron Edmonds “7 Correlates of Effective Schools” (page 3).The goals for the plan are based on three areas of need listed on the right. |
Technology Accessibility & InfrastructureGoal 1: Technology Accessibly for Instruction & Assessment.
Goal 2: Provide sufficient technical support to ensure, reliable, ongoing technology operations. Goal 3: Provide leadership in current and emerging technology trends. Goal 4: Ensure networks are secure and used appropriately. Administrative Goals:Goal 1: The administrative staff will use Educational Information Management System (EIMS) as an assessment data management system.
Goal 2: Web pages will be used as a major tool of communication. Goal 3: The division will implement a web-based student information system and grade book. Goal 4: Administrative staff will provide leadership in the use and integration of technology during meetings. Instructional Goals:Goal 1: To improve teacher and student access to technological resources in the school system.
Goal 2: To expand the use of 21st century learning skills amongst our faculty, staff, administrators, and students. |
